In 1942 German U-Boats were sinking cargo and troopships carrying sacks of US Mail. This was crucial, for mail was essential to maintain morale. The US Navy was too busy in Pacific to protect the Atlantic. I was the first Officer selected by US Signal Corps to develop the microfilming of letters and flying the reduced size of 16mm film to destination. Never losing a letter. I tell of my voyage to Egypt on the Pasteur with the 5000 man nucleus of the newly created 9th US Air Force. There I established the first V-Mail station. The Desert Victory against Rommel is told in detail, including British Commanding general Montgomery flying over his 8th Army. V-Mail was a greative gem to defeat the U-Boats, now today we need creativity to fight terrorists. Local teams of volunteers can meet regularly to discuss their neighborhood AND REPORT ANYTHING THAT IS UNUUSUAL that might be a terrorist plot. The police and FBI can be notified for action. BOSS is also a pleasant social club.
